- Actually, it doesn't appear to be a phone line problem. I have
- eight lines on this particular hunt group and a few spare modems,
- so I did some replacing. Two of the modems seem to fail regardless
- of what line they are on, when other modems (with the same ROM
- dates) work all right on those same lines.

- I have, and the convenience is awfully attractive. Unfortunately,
- it nearly quadruples the modem cost and also, due to the way various
- delivery methods are tarrifed here, it increases my phone line cost
- by 25%. (Why a telco should charge more for not having to use a
- channel bank is beyond me, but apparently not beyond the CRTC.)
